The Standard Four

Honeycomb Wood Roller Grass

By far, these are the most requested products!
This group of shades are the most functional and simplistic in design.
As far as shades are concerned, subtle should be your goal.
Function is what we expect in a shade treatment, this is what we should envisage.
If we want more of a statement to occur, then Yes be Bold!
Make those statements in Draperies, pillows and accessories,
but the functional part wants to be subtle.

Window treatents for the bit more destinguished taste.

About Us

Terry Carbary

Hi, I'm Terry Carbary,
I have been in the window covering business since 1980.
Over the years I have been providing and installing Draperies, Roman shades, Shutters, Shades and Blinds, standard and motorized.

I, Terry, have been installing shutters and draperies, for that matter Conrads too, for more than 40 years.
By far shutters has been my forte, but I have been installing draperies with in the same time span.
With out thinking too much of myself, I'm considered an expert in both of these fields.

When breaking into the world of window treatments, I was told to avoid shutters, they are frought with problems.

This was in a way a calling. I had previously been employed as a machinist for 3 years, building aircraft parts for Boeing and Bell Helicopter. I was working in a trade dealing with dimensions to 0.01", a 1/16" didn't seem like such a big deal.

So, instead of heeding conventional advised, I drove straight into the world of shutters.
Of course, being mechanical minded I excelled in all facets of the window covering world, including draperies.

Well, enough said about me, let's just say, I know a little about the finer aspects of window treatments. This is new website approach, I'm focusing on just 4 products.

Honeycomb Shades

Honeycomb shades have a few different descriptive names,
Cellular, Pleated and Duette shades.

Honeycomb's are a double layer of fabric creating an insulating cell.
Available in Sheer, Semi-opaqe and Blackout fabrics.

Various pleat sizes, the most widley used is 3/4 single pleats.

Avilable as Cordless or Cord Lock, Top Down / Bottom Up and more.

The cell being a pocket of two layers of fabric combined into a honeycomb structure,
creating a sound absorbing and insulating air space within the Honeycomb Cell.

A Pleated shade refers to the folding of the fabric that gathers into a nice compact stack.

The use of the term " Pleated " is used to describe an older product line of " Z" shaped folds that are a single layer fabric.

Pleated shades are almost completely replaced by the Honeycomb double structured shades.
There are a few true old time Pleated shades remaining on the market.

Alta uses a sheer pleated fabric on the Tri-light shades.

I tend to use the descriptive of Tri-light shades as " Day/Night " shades.
Essentially a shade built with two fabric selections alternating within a single shade.

A " Duette " shade is the same idea,
but this term, " Duette " is a brand name of Hunter Douglas.
A pleated cellular honeycomb shade.

I do carry the Hunter Douglas Duette line.
The HD Duette is signifantly more expensive.

The more recent " Duette " shade line now incorporates a Cell within the Cell,
The Cell in Cell makes Blackout versions of the fabric similar to the Seni-Opaque fabrics.

The Alta Honeycomb line uses the more traditional single cell fabrics.
